What we collect and why
Newsletter (sign-up on marcosnoeters.com, agentpickr.dev or our other sites):
- your email address
- the date, time and IP address of your sign-up and of your confirmation click (double opt-in)
- which of our sites you signed up on (a source tag)
We use this only to send you the Marco Snoeters newsletter and to prove that you agreed to receive it. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email, or by emailing us. Withdrawal does not affect sending that took place before it.
We do not track whether you open our emails or click links in them.
Website visits: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how our site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
About the newsletter content
The newsletter currently contains no sponsored content and no affiliate links. If that changes, every sponsored item and affiliate link will be clearly labelled as such. Sponsors and affiliate partners never receive your email address or any other subscriber data from us. We do not sell your data.
Who processes your data for us
- Buttondown, LLC (United States) sends the newsletter and stores the subscriber list.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) hosts our website (Cloudflare Pages) and provides the website analytics. When you visit the site, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver and secure the pages.
Both act as our processors under a data processing agreement. Because they are based in the US, your data may be transferred outside the EU. For Buttondown, those transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Decision (EU) 2021/914). For Cloudflare, they rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- While you are subscribed: we keep your email address, source tag and consent record.
- After you unsubscribe: we delete your subscriber data, except that we keep your email address on a suppression list so we never email you again, and we keep the consent record for up to 24 months as proof.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase or export your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date above. If the change is significant we will tell subscribers in the newsletter.
